Steps to setup the ARX POP3 Connector:
- Install the software
- Restart the server
- Open the ARX POP3 Connector Console and verify that the status bar displays "Service Stopped"
for both services, if it says "Service not installed", run the setup again and click "Repair"
- Click "Smarthost" in the console then click "Smarthost" in the menu and
click "Add".
- Add your local SMTP server that you would like mail delivered to. Verify that the local DNS domain name is accurate. Click the verify button to confirm settings and then click "OK".
If using Microsoft Exchange, you may need to setup and start a SMTP Virtual
Server. Click "Send Test" to verify that mail delivery to this smarthost is
configured correctly.
- Click "Routing Links" then click "Links" in the menu and click "Add"
- Fill in the text boxes with the corresponding information and click the
"Verify" button to confirm your settings. Click "OK" to finish. Start both Services using the toolbar button or click "Service Control" and click "Start".
- Open the Event Viewer under "Tools" in the menu. Click "ARX POP3 Connector" event log.
Refresh the log occasionally to verify that there are no errors or warnings.
- Send a few test messages and confirm that mail is being delivered.
There are other settings like filtering and monitoring that you can enable as well, but this is the minimum to have mail route.
